So much for a return to regular posting! Just a brief note to emphasise the fact that I've not wholly abandoned this blogging lark. Now I've made a tiny bit of effort and got something up here maybe I'll be able to slip back into some sort of a routine. There's plenty of stuff going on to talk about, really.
Also, for those who were wondering I did run six-miles at Sport Relief down the marina (this was made up of six increasingly-boring mile laps of a couple of buildings) and did it in an hour which I believe is reasonable considering my fitness levels.

Oh Dear...
St. Davids
Last weekend A few weekends ago (this post was drafted a while back!) my partner and I went to St. Davids for the day, where we were treated to unseasonable sunshine. I couldn't let the sunny occasion slip by without taking a couple of photographs!

Sport Relief...
It is Sport Relief tomorrow which means that I shall be running six miles along the Waterfront - a rather daunting prospect. I know that for runners six miles isn't actually a lot but, despite running regularly for over a month now, I'm still going to find it a bit of a challenge.
Lately my life has been pretty much hold as I completed two essays for Uni. Not only did that mean no blogging but also little training - I went for a quick lap of Manselton last night and I didn't struggle too much which was promising.
A few weeks ago my shins started to really hurt after running, I consulted a friend of mine who is about to qualify as a physiotherapist and it seems likely the problem was my seven year-old trainers (apparently you're meant to change them every two years!). I've now treated myself to a very bright white new pair which I've broken in and will hopefully help alleviate the pain.
So I am rather nervous about tomorrow, especially the very public nature of the run, but hopefully I won't be struggling to much.
Don't forget you it's never too late to sponsor me and you can do so here.

Rugby
I don't regularly go to watch the rugby in a pub or bar but I saw the Wales - Italy game in town and am likely to go in for tonights Wales-France game. It is amazing, really, how different Wales have been playing to the World Cup - I was in the now demolished Orange House watching the Fiji game that saw us knocked out and remember it distinctly.
I also remember the last Grand Slam where we played Ireland. I must have been about 18, we watched it over a friends house and then went into town afterwards, there was a really good atmosphere. That said I doubt I'll be staying out tonight - I really dislike town when it is extremely busy.
Will we win? I don't really know enough about rugby to make any kind of credible prediction, but I certainly hope so - if only to antagonise my partner! I've been keen to point out Wales hasn't lost a game since Seren was born, surely a sign...

Not a whole lot of blogging going...
Some of you may have noticed my blogging has been rather non-existent of late. The reason for this is a noon deadline for two essays today - needless to say I've been kept rather busy.
A month break from uni follows, however, so I'm sure I'll be blogging away like the bored person I generally am in no time!

Manic Street Preachers cover Rihanna...
I'll openly admit that I quite liked Rihanna's Umbrella despite the
fact it was hugely over-played. It seems the Manics are fans too as
this Youtube video will attest - it's a studio recording of the band's
cover which will apparently be appearing on an NME (dirty word...)
compilation.
Little else to say really, the song does showcase James Dean Bradfield's always-brilliant voice.
St. David's Day
We set off yesterday to partake in the various fairs and events occurring across Swansea. We ended up having a gander at the Mumbles Green Family Fair, the fair at the Waterfront Museum and the stalls in Castle Gardens.
I must admit I'm not a big fan of these sorts of events - I don't particularly like being pushed around or queuing up, I especially dislike the awkward silences and aborted attempts at conversation with stall holders.
That said it wasn't too bad. We bought a few cotton nappies and some wooden decorations at the Family fair, some eggs at the Waterfront and finally two bottles of Cwrw Braf (lovely beer, apparently literally) and some Welsh cakes at Castle Gardens.
The low-point would be queuing for ten minutes for the hugely popular Welsh cakes but since they were fresh and warm that can be forgiven.
Popped my head into the LC too, it looked rather swanky but the fact people were queuing to have a look around I decided to explore further another time.
Being St. David's Day there were a number of young-folk in traditional outfits much to Lily's (the lady-friend) amazement. Apparently Seren will never wear it... well, we'll see!
Speaking of Seren, she's started teething recently at a rather young age, she's only 10 weeks. She's been very grizzly and unsettled. It isn't very pleasant seeing your child clearly uncomfortable and finding that there's little you can do to alleviate their upset. Apparently teething happens in spurts so hopefully she'll come out of this one fairly soon.
Time to get on with some work I think; I have two essays due in before the end of term and being in my situation it is important to work well in advance!
